The Guess Who, Takin' It Back Tour

After six decades and a hard-fought battle to reclaim their name, The Guess Who has embarked on a celebratory tour for 2026. Dates kick off May 26th at Avenir Centre in Moncton, NB, making stops in Halifax, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and more. With their unmatched songwriting catalog and deep influence on rock music, this moment marks a rare and meaningful full-circle return - one that longtime fans have been waiting for, and one that underscores just how enduring their legacy continues to be.  The tour will feature support from Don Felder, formerly of the Eagles.

Established in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1958, The Guess Who is a prominent Canadian rock band that experienced its greatest success from 1969 to 1972, with notable hits including "American Woman", "These Eyes", "No Time", "Laughing", and "Share the Land".

At the height of their success, the Guess Who released eleven studio albums, all of which achieved chart success in Canada and the United States. Their 1970 album American Woman reached number 1 in Canada and the United States, while five other albums reached the top ten in Canada. The Guess Who secured fourteen Top-40 singles in the United States, and more than thirty in Canada.

The Guess Who disbanded officially in 1975, but several periodic reunions took place over time. An unauthorized version of the band, established by former bassist Jim Kale, toured and recorded under the Guess Who name for several decades, often without any original members. After a lengthy legal battle, founding members Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings regained control of the Guess Who name in a 2024 settlement and announced a 2026 reunion tour with a new lineup.

While these legendary Canadian rockers led the audience through their iconic and extensive songbook, the audience was transported back to a bygone era when life was less complicated and the original opus of songs on a vinyl album gave rise to life-changing classics. I had the privilege of attending a Guess Who 23 years ago at this very venue in Halifax. I can say by eyewitness testimony that these Canadian Icons have stood the test of time with their massive soundtrack, which will remain revelent for many generations to come.
